Microneedling benefits all skin types but is especially effective for those seeking a firmer complexion. Individuals concerned about wrinkles, fine lines, scars, and overall skin texture are good candidates. Skin types of all shades can benefit from it. 

Usually you will notice some improvement just days after the the first treatment. More significant results will occur after 4 to 8 treatments spaced 2 to 4 weeks apart. Collagen remodeling takes place over time. Skin will continue to improve over the next 6 to 12 months with proper skin care regimen. Results will vary in each patient.

The results are long-lasting, especially with a series of treatments. Many see improvements for up to six months or longer.

Microneedling has minimal downtime. You may experience slight redness and sensitivity right after the treatment, but this usually subsides within 1-3 days. Some patients may experience mild peeling or flaking as the skin continues to fully heal.

Microneedling is an aesthetic medical procedure that involves repeatedly puncturing the skin with tiny, disposable sterile needles in order to induce endogenous production of cutaneous collagen. Numbing cream is optional for this treatment. If using topical numbing cream to reduce discomfort, it will be applied to the treated area for approximately 20 minutes and be removed prior to treatment. During the procedure, you might feel warmth or a scratching sensation. A deeper treatment may cause some pin point bleeding. The procedure is generally well-tolerated and lasts about 15 minutes, depending on the treatment area.

• Wait at least 6 months post Accutane/isotretinoin use, as it may compromise the skin’s protective barrier.
• Wait at least 5 days post neurotoxin or filler (injections may be done immediately after).
• This procedure may not be performed on anyone who is pregnant.
• This procedure may not be performed on anyone with a Hemorrhagic (bleeding) disorder or hemostatic (bleeding) dysfunction.
• Certain autoimmune conditions, particularly those affecting the skin, may increase the risk of adverse reactions and can impair healing. Please consult with your healthcare provider first.
• Discontinue use of aggressive exfoliants, Retinol/Tretinoin, AHA/BHA products, bleaching, waxing, depilatory creams, or any other exfoliating products in the treatment area 24 hours prior to treatment.
• Avoid blood thinners 5-7 days before your treatment, such as aspirin, Motrin/Advil (ibuprofen), Aleve (naproxen), fish oil, and vitamin E.  If you have prescription blood thinners, consult with your healthcare provider before discontinuing.
• If the treatment area has compromised skin (severe/inflamed acne, dermatitis, sunburn, open wounds) or you are experiencing an active skin infection (cold sores), the procedure should be postponed until the condition is resolved.

• Redness and mild swelling is normal and typically resolves within a few hours or up to 7 days, depending on the aggressiveness of your treatment. Cold compresses may be used to provide comfort during this time, as well as Vitamin E or Aloe Vera.
• Do not apply any other products to the skin for 6-8 hours after treatment.
• Avoid wearing makeup for 24 hours.
• Avoid strenuous exercise, sweating, excessive heat, saunas, hot tubs, and swimming pools until skin is healed.
• For the first day, avoid clothing, headbands, hats or scarves on the treated area. If clothing is to be worn over the treatment area, we recommend loose, cotton clothing that hasn’t been treated with fabric softeners or dryer sheets.
• After the first 6-8 hours post treatment, cleanse the skin with lukewarm water and a gentle cleanser. Use your hands to gently apply the cleanser and water, and finish by patting dry with a soft cloth. Do NOT rub, scrub, exfoliate, or use a skincare brush in the treated area. 
• A gentle moisturizer should be applied generously with clean hands over the treated area. You may also use a hyaluronic acid serum or other products recommended by us. Do not apply anything else to the skin unless instructed to (e.g. essential oils, coconut oil, etc.) Continue this routine every morning and evening for one week. Avoid using products with active or exfoliating ingredients until you're fully healed. SPF 30 or higher should be used daily for at least one week, reapplying every 2 hours in direct sun exposure.
• Refrain from using scented lotions or soaps and perfumes/cologne in the treatment area until healed.
• Itching may be experienced during the healing phase and is a normal side effect. Do NOT scratch the treated area as scarring and pigmentation complications can occur. Over-the-counter antihistamines such as loratadine (Claritin) or cetirizine (Zyrtec) are non-drowsy and may be taken during the day. Over-the-counter Diphenhydramine (Benadryl), which may cause drowsiness, can be taken at night to relieve itching.
• Do not pick, peel, rub, or irritate your skin in any way while it is healing. Doing so may result in scarring and pigmentation complications.
• Your skin will continue to build new collagen for several months. It is important to be on a good skin care regimen to maintain healthy skin and optimal results.
