Dermaplane

Dermaplaning is ideal for individuals who want to enhance their skin health and address specific skin issues. 

You will see the results of a dermaplane treatment immediately after your session with skin visibly smoother and brighter right away.

The results of a dermaplane treatment typically last about 3 to 4 weeks. This timeline corresponds to your skin’s natural cell turnover cycle and the regrowth of peach fuzz (vellus hair). To maintain smooth, radiant skin, many clients schedule dermaplaning as part of their monthly skincare routine. 

There is typically no downtime following a dermaplane. Following the treatment, some individuals may experience slight redness or sensitivity, which usually disappears within a few hours. 

A sterile, single-use, surgical blade is used to gently scrape away dead skin cells and fine vellus hair (commonly known as "peach fuzz") from the surface of the skin. The treatment typically targets the entire face, avoiding sensitive areas like the eyelids or lips. Other modalities may be included such as extractions and a custom mask. The process will rejuvenate and refresh your skin, promoting a brighter, more even complexion.

• Discontinue use of aggressive exfoliants, Retinol/Tretinoin, AHA/BHA products, or any other exfoliating products 1-3 days prior to treatment.
• Avoid blood thinners 3-5 days before, such as aspirin, Motrin/Advil (ibuprofen), Aleve (naproxen), fish oil, and vitamin E. If you have prescription blood thinners, consult with your healthcare provider before discontinuing.
• If the treatment area has compromised skin (severe/inflamed acne, dermatitis, sunburn, open wounds) or you are experiencing an active skin infection (cold sores), the procedure should be postponed until the condition is resolved.
• Try to avoid direct sun exposure for at least 48 hours before your treatment to reduce the risk of irritation or sensitivity. 

• Some patients may experience a mild redness immediately following their dermaplane service. This is temporary and generally resolves within a  few minutes or up to several hours. 
• You may apply makeup immediately after as long as skin integrity has not been compromised.
• Avoid aggressive exfoliants, Retinol/Tretinoin, AHA/BHA products, or any other exfoliating products for 1-3 days after.
• Your skin may feel slightly more sensitive to your skin care products, as the superficial layer of dead skin has just been removed through exfoliation. This is usually very tolerable and requires no  special care. However, if a product feels too sensitive, discontinue use for a few days.
• Avoid hot showers, saunas, or intense physical activity for 24 hours to prevent irritation.
• If you can, limit sun exposure for at least 48 hours after your dermaplane to preserve the treatment. If sun exposure cannot be avoided, please apply an SPF 30 or higher.
