Individuals with superficial skin concerns such as fine lines, wrinkles, uneven pigmentation, or mild scarring are ideal candidates for these treatments.

While a LaserPeel is safe and effective for most people, some individuals may not be ideal candidates due to certain skin conditions, health concerns, or lifestyle factors. Please consult with your healthcare provider if you are unsure. Precautions to consider: 

• Pregnancy - consult with your healthcare provider first.
• Patients who are undergoing treatment for skin cancer.
• Accutane - must wait at least 9 months.
• Compromised skin (dermatitis, sunburn, open wounds or sores, infection) in the treatment area.
• Autoimmune conditions that affect skin healing (like lupus or active vitiligo) - consult with your healthcare provider first.
• History of keloids or poor wound healing.

Patients notice results within one week after their initial treatment, with continued improvement over the following months as your body produces collagen.

Results can vary but typically last up to 6 months or more, however, to maintain these benefits, additional maintenance treatments may be recommended, depending on individual needs and desired outcomes. Proper skincare and sun protection are also crucial for extending the duration of the results.

Both treatments involve minimal downtime. Immediately after treatment, your skin will feel hot like a sunburn for approximately 30 minutes to 2 hours, sometimes longer. Following the procedure, you may experience a feeling of warmth, tightness, mild redness, and swelling similar to a sunburn sensation. Mild discomfort or sensitivity may persist for a few days. Peeling and dryness typically occur on days 3-5 as your skin renews. Depending on the treatment area and depth, the healing process will take about 3-5 days for NanoLaserPeel or 7-14 days for MicroLaserPeel.

Both treatments involve a brief procedure, typically lasting about 30 minutes with minimal discomfort. Topical numbing cream will be applied for approximately 20 minutes prior to a MicroLaserPeel treatment. Light from a laser can be harmful to eyes and wearing special safety eye wear is necessary at all times during the procedure. During treatment, a laser energy device delivers uniform and precise ablation at the level selected for your skin concerns to stimulate new skin cell growth. This process removes the superficial layer of the skin, resulting in the appearance of clearer, smoother skin. Laser treatment procedures may produce scanning patterns visible on the skin. This event usually fades while in the healing phase.

• Avoid direct sun exposure, including tanning beds, and artificial tanning (spray tans, tanning lotions, etc.) for at least 1-2 weeks prior to treatment. Use SPF 30+ if sun exposure is unavoidable. Patients with any residual sun tan in the treatment area have a higher risk of pigmentation changes.
• Avoid exfoliants and skin irritants (retinol, benzoyl peroxide or acne medications, topical medications, vitamin C if strong or acidic, hydroquinone, AHAs, BHAs, astringents, depilatories, waxing, etc.) in the treatment area for at least 7 days prior to treatment.
• Avoid blood thinners (including fish oil and vitamin E), NSAIDs, photosensitizing drugs, and certain antibiotics for at least 7 days before your treatment as these may increase the risk of bruising or irritation. Consult with your healthcare provider before discontinuing.
• Avoid facial injections, lasers, and other facial treatments for 1-2 weeks before receiving a LaserPeel. 
• If you have a history of herpes/cold sores in the treatment area, pre-treat with an antiviral a few days before and after treatment to reduce the risk of an outbreak. Please let us know if you need a prescription for a short course to take.  

• Limited activity and exercise is advised, as well as no sweating, excessive heat, swimming, hot showers, and sauna use until skin is fully healed. When showering, try to avoid getting shampoo directly on the treated area.
• Avoid direct sun exposure for 2-4 weeks following treatment. Keep the area covered with a hat or loose clothing and apply a broad spectrum (UVA/UVB) SPF 30+ to prevent hyperpigmentation.
• Avoid artificial tanning (spray tans, tanning lotions, etc.), exfoliants, and skin irritants (retinol, benzoyl peroxide or acne medications, topical medications, vitamin C if strong or acidic, hydroquinone, AHAs, BHAs, astringents, depilatories, waxing, shaving, etc.) in the treatment area until skin is fully healed.
• Avoid putting on makeup for at least 48 hours, and use only mineral-based products preferably once the skin starts healing.
