Who is not a good candidate?

While VI peel is safe and effective for most people, some individuals may not be ideal candidates due to factors that could increase risks or impact results. Medical clearance may be required for certain conditions. Please consult with your healthcare provider if you are unsure. Precautions to consider:

Pregnancy.
Patients who are undergoing treatment for skin cancer.
Accutane - must wait at least 6 months.
Compromised skin (dermatitis, sunburn, open wounds or sores, infection) in the treatment area.
Autoimmune conditions that affect skin healing (like lupus or active vitiligo) - consult with your healthcare provider first.

When will I see results?

Improvements are often visible shortly after the first treatment, with more significant results after subsequent sessions.

How long do results last?

Results often last several months, depending on the individual’s skin care routine and condition.

Is there any downtime or side effects?

VI peel can have moderate to severe downtime lasting 7 days or more. There may be redness, dryness, and peeling as side effects. Freckles and sunspots may initially turn slightly darker and then lighten within a few days. This is normal and part of the process. A post-care kit will be provided to help speed up healing.

How does this treatment work?

It involves applying a chemical solution to your skin and leaving it on for a certain period, causing it to exfoliate and peel off. The active ingredients might cause a slight stinging or burning sensation during the application, which usually subsides once the peel takes effect.

Before + After Care

Before Treatment

Avoid direct sun exposure, including tanning beds, for at least 3 days prior to treatment. Use SPF 30+ if sun exposure is unavoidable.
Avoid skin irritants (products containing tretinoin, retinol, benzoyl peroxide or acne medications, vitamin C if strong or acidic, hydroquinone, AHAs, BHAs, astringents, depilatories, waxing, shaving, etc.) or any other exfoliating products in the treatment area for at least 72 hours prior to treatment.
Avoid facial injections or fillers, lasers, and other facial treatments for 1-2 weeks before receiving a chemical peel.

After Treatment

Limited activity and exercise is advised, as well as no sweating, excessive heat, swimming, hot showers, and sauna use for at least 48 hours or until skin is fully healed.
Avoid direct, prolonged sun exposure until skin is fully healed. Keep the area covered with a hat or loose clothing and apply a broad spectrum (UVA/UVB) SPF 30+ to prevent hyperpigmentation.
Avoid artificial tanning (spray tans, tanning lotions, etc.) and skin irritants (products containing tretinoin, retinol, benzoyl peroxide or acne medications, vitamin C if strong or acidic, hydroquinone, AHAs, BHAs, astringents, depilatories, waxing, shaving, etc.) or any other exfoliating products in the treatment area until skin is fully healed. Please use only the products included in your kit for the first few days, unless otherwise advised.
Avoid putting on makeup immediately after.
